I wanted to inform people that I & a colleague started a new "Jazz" venue called "JAZZ @ THE NETTLEBED" In October/November - I performed on the 1st. one with ANDY MACKINTOSH plus TRIO & the 2nd, special guests were ALAN BARNES & JIM MULLEN.

We have NOW suspended it over Christmas/New Year but plan to start up again in MARCH 2011. The address is "THE NETTLEBED VILLAGE CLUB, HIGH STREET, NETTLEBED, HENLEY ON THAMES. More details to follow later!

Did a great gig at the Woodman, Ide Hill, back in September with the marvellous MARTIN SHAW on trumpet/flugel and of course the equally marvellous JOHN PEARCE, PAUL MORGAN & BOBBY WORTH.

Thanks to all of you who came along.

I would also like to thank Don Leach, who books us and GET WELL SOON! Plus of course the landlord - keep up the support.

Apart from travelling quite a lot up & down the country with GMO (Glenn Miller Orchestra) we performed at the ALGARVE JAZZ FESTIVAL. Just after that, I was called to do some sessions with the great jazz drummer/arranger & in this case songwriter -TONY KINSEY which we recorded at Pinewood Studios.

With that he asked if I would perform with his small band at SUNBURY ARTS FESTIVAL which of course I was honoured to do! The line-up was; JOHN HORLER piano,CHRIS LAWRENCE bass, the great PETER KING alto, & of course
- TONY KINSEY on Drums. I hope I can do that again!

News about the album. Its been a bit slow, what with work commitments clashing between Cliff & I. But we have recorded RONNIE HUGHES on a couple of tracks which was magnificent and we have put BOBBY WORTH on nearly all the tracks that needed Drums, which has made all the difference (he played great!).

A couple more vocals to do and then "mixing" & we hope the CD will be out by Christmas ! (Great present )

One more thing to all those who attended the COMBO re-union in MARCH & to those who didn't ! How do you feel about another one next year ? I'd liked to hear from as many people as possible so we (the combo & I ) can start thinking about it & then organising. So please get in touch !

PS: Terry Marsden has always been a great support to me & my career & especially organising the re-unions with the "COMBO".

combo reunionLet me say to all those lovely people who came to the Football Club on Friday 27th March -
A BIG THANKS - and the Combo and I hope you enjoyed as much as we did. To all those who didn't come, you missed a fantastic evening of old Rock'n'Roll and Pop music!

It was a great turn-out (about 250 people) and although I don't have the exact figure for charity to present to "DOROTHY HOUSE" as money yet to come in. I will let you have the final figure at a later date.

Again thanks to everyone who supported this event and maybe we will do it all again!

glenn miller orchestraAs mentioned, Iwork with the Glenn Miller Orchestra takes me away on a few occasions to SPAIN, JERSEY, SCOTLAND and all over ENGLAND etc, for short periods so I hope to be seeing some of you at some point or another.
